Brian McGuigan is Managing Director at Bully Pulpit International (BPI), where he leads communications and public affairs strategy for clients across technology, sports and other sectors, advising on complex business, legal and regulatory issues.

In earlier roles, Brian was Director of Public Affairs at Lyft and helped lead advocacy efforts that contributed to the passage of 45 state ridesharing laws — supporting the company’s growth from 16 cities to all 50 states over four years. He also served as Head of Communications at Pacaso, driving initiatives that introduced the co-ownership model to second-home buyers and aided expansion into 40 communities across four countries. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Brian ran corporate communications and public policy for Whole Foods Market, guiding the grocer through challenges affecting customers and 100,000 team members across 500 stores.

At the beginning of his career, he honed his strategic communications expertise at Joe Trippi & Associates (counseling campaigns and causes), modernized communications at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C., and supported voter registration and turnout among college students for Obama for America in New Hampshire in 2008.

Brian holds a B.A. from Saint Mary’s College of California, lives in Marin County with his wife and two sons, and is a pilot, sailor and avid outdoorsman.
