Loren Mullen
Director
Loren Mullen is a Director at Bully Pulpit International (BPI), where he leads integrated marketing, reputation, and public affairs campaigns. Over the past decade, he’s helped dozens of organizations — from Fortune 100 companies to advocacy groups — solve complex communications challenges across energy, finance, healthcare, technology, and public policy. His work blends issue management, brand positioning, rapid response, and multi-channel storytelling to meet the moment and move audiences.
In addition to his work at BPI, Loren serves as a commissioned Public Affairs Officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve. That experience, combined with his background in politics and government, has sharpened his ability to communicate clearly under pressure and adapt strategies to a wide range of public affairs environments. Prior to BPI, he served as Digital Director to Senator Jeff Merkley (OR), leading digital strategy, creative development, and rapid-response efforts. He began his career building visual narratives as a designer for political campaigns.
Loren holds a B.A. in history and marketing from California State University, Long Beach, and lives in Washington, D.C. Outside of work, you’ll usually find him spending time with his family, cooking in the kitchen, or training for his next distance run — he’s completed seven marathons and two ultramarathons.
